A Cut Above, as well as a Stroke of Brilliance

Hi everyone!  This manicure is one from the files,  I don't know why I was holding out on it so long?!  I had received a Stroke of Brilliance, thanks to Klout and I wanted to do something fun with it.  As for A Cut Above, it was part of a fantastic birthday present by one of my best friends, Chris Mamanna (y'all need to check out her art!!!).  I knew instantly that I wanted to pair the two together!

  • I started off with Revlon Powderpuff, this may be limited edition, I'm not sure.  Powder Puff is a sheer white with a blue flash, dries to a matte finish.  Here I used two coats.

  • index finger- Stroke of Brilliance
  • middle finger- Stroke of Brilliance and A Cut Above
  • ring finger- A Cut Above
  • pinky finger- A Cut Above and Stroke of Brilliance

Stroke of Brilliance is best described as a steel blue, with hex glitter and small glitter.
A Cut Above is best described as a rose gold/pink, with hex glitter and small glitter.

If you happen to have both of these, you basically have the glitter combo for Revlon Whimsical or Deborah Lippmann Glitter in the Air.  Just mix them with a milky blue jelly!

Pardon the lack of cleanup, I was so impatient to take pics!

I decided I wanted to layer a coat of Powder Puff (just love the blue flash it has!) over the glitter, to tone it down a bit.  I loved all versions of this: glittery, matte, glossy.  I felt like it gave me 3 manicure options.  It also wore like iron once I applied a top coat.  I believe I was able to wear this for 4 days before I got antsy.

What did you think of this color combo?  Yay or nay on jelly sandwiches?

Let's get social!
